Here at Primitive Beginnings we strive to offer the highest quality furnishings
at affordable prices. Born out of a desire to obtain a classic old- style look
while staying on a budget, Primitive Beginnings started in the basement of my
Maryland home with hand- painted floorcloths.
Since our beginning in 2007, we’ve been busy finding quality craftspeople
who share our passion for recreating that old warm look with great
American classics like braided rugs and salt-glazed stoneware. When ever
possible, we feature American made merchandise, like our hand dipped cake
candles from Ohio, our earthenware bowls from New York, textiles from
Pennsylvania, crocks from Virginia, and furniture from Georgia. We feel
that it’s important to offer items from American artists to ensure the
highest quality, support the local crafts, and provide our customers with
truly unique heirlooms, all while keeping down costs. Such standards keep
us constantly on the hunt for new and exciting products, and allow our
customers access to beautiful one of a kind pieces. We hope that you enjoy
